IEM's STATEMENT OF FAITH

  • We believe in One God—the only living God; creator of the heavens and the earth, and all that exist. (Genesis 1:1; Jeremiah 10:10; Psalm 24:1)
  • We believe that the Bible is the infallible word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit, and holds a timeless solution to every of man’s challenge. (2Timothy 3:16, 17; 2Peter 1:20, 21)
  • We believe in the Trinity: one God existing eternally in 3 Persons—God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:26; John 10:30; John 14:26)
  • We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God; sent by the Father to die for the salvation of man. We believe that Jesus died, was buried, and rose again; and is the only One through whom we can be saved. (John 3:16; Romans 6:4; Acts 4:12)
  • We believe that man was created by God in His image to have a personal intimate relationship with Him; but sin separated man from God. We believe that Jesus is the only One through whom this relationship can be restored. (Genesis 1:26; Isaiah 59:2; 1Timothy 2:5)
  • We believe that God is love and He loves all men passionately. We believe that it is His desire that all men be saved and live in knowledge of the truth. We believe it is His desire that we live, constantly being an expression of His love; serving and reaching out to the poor, oppressed, widowed, orphaned and broken hearted. (1John 4:16; 1Timothy 2:4; Psalm 68:5, 6; James 1:27)
  • We believe in water baptism, by immersion, as the way for a believer to identify with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. (Matthew 28:19; Acts 8:36-39; Romans 6:4)
  • We believe that the Holy Spirit—the third Person in the Trinity, has been sent to us by God the Father as He promised through the Son; to be with us and then dwell in us. We also believe that the believer is empowered at the occurrence of the baptism of the Holy Ghost to be a witness to Christ; with power, authority, signs and wonders. (John 14:17; Acts 1:4, 5, 8; 2:1-4)
  • We believe in divine (physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual) healing and freedom. We believe that Jesus is still healing the sick and setting the captives free, through the believer, and by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Luke 4:18; Matthew 9:35; Luke 9:1, 2; Acts 3:6, 7)
  • We believe that it is God’s desire that every individual has a personal intimate relationship with Him. We also believe that the individual should become progressively more acquainted with Jesus Christ. (John 4:23; Colossians 2:2)
  • We believe that holiness, brokenness, and absolute surrender are requirements to live and grow in intimacy with God. (1Peter 1:15, 16; Luke 9:23, 24; Psalm 51:17)
  • We believe that sinners are those who don’t have their names written in the Lamb’s Book of Life and that they will be eternally separated from God and cast into the lake of fire with death and hades. (Revelation 20:12-15; John 3:18; 2Thessalonians 1:8-10; Revelation 21:8)
  • We believe that the righteous in Christ are those who have their names written in the Lamb’s Book of Life, and that they will spend eternity with God, and will live eternally in the New Jerusalem, free from all forms of pain and suffering.(1Thessalonians 4:13-17; Revelation 21:22-27; Revelation 21:4)
